I will be the first one to jump in here. I have a practice routine that might help someone with their doubles and triples, (not trebles)

I start by throwing at the 1's and going around the board in order, aiming at the doubles only. To advance to the next number, you need to hit 2 doubles, with one turn, (3 darts in hand) The same with the bull.
I then reverse it, throwing at the triples, (again, not trebles)  needing to once again hit 2 trips, before moving on to the next number, keeping the time it takes to complete. The next time you do it, try to beat your last time. You will see an improvement after a few practice sessions.
Side note: When you get to the reverse part, you once again need to hit 2 double bulls before moving to 20's.

Good Luck to those who try.

Chi, I play something real similar, but just 1 double, then 1 Triple (Not Treble  ). I check track of the number of darts I throw, then try to beat it like that. If I keep time, I could be at it all night     .

When you say you track your darts, what do you normally average? I don't know if I can do my way with a dart count, I don't have that many fingers and toes.

Another good practice game was taught to me by Dave Saba. You play cricket, but before you start you have to hit the double. You go in order, 20 thru bull. You have to hit a double 20 before you start counting your hits. The double doesn't count for anything except to allow you to start closing the number. After you close the 20, you go to 19, needing to hit the double to start. The same goes for all the cricket numbers. This not only helps you practice your doubles, but also youe cricket game.

Sometimes I will do this around the whole board just to break it up a bit, and practice all the doubles.

I start by allowing 42 darts, then try to bring that number down. I have completed a round a couple of times just using 22 darts before, but I am not that consistant yet but still working on it.

I practice by playing a virtual match against my Chalkmate scorer. 601 DIDO, cricket, 301, all best of 3. Then go to 501 after for a while.

Chris, I as well use my Dartmaster III and play against it, but other games are good practice as well. I sometimes play Double in, 3 Corks, Double out, but whatever double you use for an in, the double directly accross from it has to be your out.

Yep, that was our team warmup game on Tuesdays.

The EScorer I have isn't that great in terms of AI but it has unusual games as well to practice with.

Here are the ones I do. I record these in Excel to see my progress ... if any lol.

1. Doubles. I throw three darts at each double 1-20 and double bull. I count up how many I hit for each number's double and I keep a running record of each time I do this, as well as a total number of doubles hit for that one cycle. So I get an average double hits per three darts and average number of times I hit a particular double (for example I hit the double one 20% of the time I throw at it, double 15 about 1% of the time lol). I can see a pattern of where I hit the most and know what numbers I can go toward for outs. What I have found is for the most part any number is one I can hit equally well. 15 and 1 being the ends of my bell curve since I seem to throw at 15 so little (other than practice) and 1 so much (in games when I first started lol).

2. 170. I start at 170 and see how many darts it takes to get out. Since 170 is the highest out, you could do it in 3. I count every throw, hit or miss or bust. I track this in my spreadsheet too. I do this 5 times per session and average it out for that session.

3. Cricket numbers. I throw three darts at each cricket number, totalling how many hits I get. Trebles being 3, doubles 2 of course. So if I hit 3 treble 20 I would get 9 hits, 3 double bulls would be 6 hits, that sort of thing. I only do a total at the end, so if I get 3 hits on every number I would have a 21. I do this 5 times per session and average the number of hits for that session. This one kind of tells me how many hits per time to the line I am getting.
